hell raising into an overcast grey sky

[my photo-report on site]

….  taken away from day dreaming mode, send on express an line to a 2001 New York City nightmare… out of the blue[ -grey] noisy trucks , flying machines  wanders if it is war [?]… lines of fire trucks parked under my windows, rediscovery of too familiar toxic smells… and the center of a disaster only two blocks below my apartment,  just at the edge  of the sealed area. No one allow inside…this not a show but way too real with none authorized to watch on site… all rights reserved to the official broadcasting, watching allowance only televised. Yes it remains on single way to watch our world, don’t you remember…?

[my photo-report on site]

To make it to the end of the 7 line train [ Flushing New York] on a cold Sunday afternoon may raise on your some frustrations. Mainly because it would be the day the transport authorities have decides to fix the line, at the expenses of your conveniences you find out you have no option but to reroute yourself – taking a small bus from Chinatown would have been a better deal. Out of the station, menacing airplanes are flying scary low over the roofs houses, although you maybe the only one noticing it, it rises on me some concerns of an other type of transportation deficiency. Mind you, probably not worse than the Con Ed’s 4 chimneys fossil fuel emissions electric plant near my back yard! As if living in ‘liberating modern time’ meant acceptance to endure! And than, where to look for balance and harmony?

Stepping inside the Public Library will be your ultimate reward. Watching the performance from the New York Opera Society will switch you mood,…now come your relief of finding yourself out of this city , back to thousands of years, as soon as the first instrument string starts to …meow!

Long hours of dedicated work and close cooperation

[my photo-report on site]

This what it takes to prepare for the Chinese Opera performance to be offer to the public of Flushing New York on Sunday 15, 2015.  Even so this musicians & actors are none professional they rehersal is not less intense and passionate.

French folk singer Charles Trenet use to say ” a professional is an amateur who does only  ‘that’ [activity] ” . Meaning that the fact an ‘professional artist’ dedicated  his/her career to art does not make him/her less than remaing an amateur. True, amateurs are not being rewared with money, but then again many professional are not necessary  alway rewared either. IF a ‘professional’ artist does not remain an ‘amateur’ at heart, he/she is more likely to compromise, to get corrupt. …always with the same excuse of having to make a living. The ‘use’ of his/her art and achievement could be very mediocre.

With the arts, it is not hardly a question of ‘career’ and ‘time spending’ that matters,  but rather how much of his/her soul a person is willing to share or to offer with others …

Survival riding in the city

[my photo-report on site]

Still caught in ices >>> bikes wheels have remain defeated in New York City like the Napoleon’s “Grande Armée”  while trying to cross Russian’s Beresina river. Now slowly making a come back, bikes are reappearing in the streets, hopping for releasing all their ‘animal’ instincts and unleash their long waiting frustrating holding time… only the legendary Georges, in his pack up to the ceiling tiny repair bike shop remains cool, nothing like pratice and long time experience will unsure survival… the key word for any dedicate rider of what French call the “little queen”!

King Clovis invites us in his Bushwich studio. Brooklyn, NY

…welcoming us with a bouquet of brushes. Away from shallow fashionable painting, Clovis works on canvas like a builder, for him there is no image creation without starting with a strong foundation and moving ‘up’ like constructing a tower. The difference is that is craftsmanship is not only bold but his transitions are smooths and translucents. In 2014, New York, in order to convey full harmony to his art,  Clovis is not shy to travel further away than the Roman times to find his learning … his work encompasses an universality that disregard trend line.

Italian actress Laura Curino transforms readings in a deeply moving, sweeping and bold live performance. Firmy delivering and demonstrating what art should always be : getting it out of our guts.Thank you Laura for, your great performance, your visit, your supportive comments on my art work, your pointing out at one of the greatest essence of life: the upmost necessity for LIGHT.

Jointly, on a speak-debate, Annamaria Cascetta (Centro di ricerca CIT “Mario Apollonio” – UCSC), Christian Biet (Institut Universitaire de France), and Stanley E. Gontarski (Florida State University) are unfolding the interacting facets of the European theatrical heritage and its relationship with the American ones.
